Tour Details

Meet your guide at the terminal of Cretan Spiti Travel, across from the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, in front of Hari’s Creperie, at 08:30. Start with a short drive (5km) to the legendary Knossos Palace, the heart of the Minoan civilization. Built between 1700 and 1400 BC, Knossos featured advanced architecture, rising up to 5 stories, with 1,300 rooms, storerooms, and a theater. Excavated by Sir Arthur Evans in the early 1900s, the site brings to life the myths of King Minos and the Minotaur, as well as everyday Minoan culture dating back to 7000 BC. Around 11:30, return to the city to visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, the second largest in Greece. Explore artifacts spanning from 6000 BC to the height of the Minoan era, including treasures from the palaces of Knossos, Phaistos, Malia, and Zakros, as well as sacred objects, household items, and stunning frescoes. Your tour concludes at approximately 13:30, returning to the terminal of Cretan Spiti Travel.
